Barbara Norris鈥 areas of expertise are in financial accounting, accounting software and internal auditing.

Norris worked as a controller at Marsella Development and Property Management Companies. She also has experience as an accounting software systems consultant at Goldman Financial Services, Richard P. Goldman & Co., CPAs, and as a governmental accountant/auditor for the Department of Education and Department of Defense.

Norris continues to work as an accounting software and tax consultant to individuals and businesses in Rhode Island and Massachusetts on a limited basis.

鈥In teaching accounting, I am able to help students understand the importance of accounting in reaching their own career goals. From freshman-level classes 鈥 where I typically introduce students to accounting for the first time 鈥 to senior level classes 鈥 where I help prepare students to take their first steps into the business world 鈥 I am always happy to have the opportunity to teach accounting at the college level.鈥

At 福利视频, education is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. You鈥檙e not going to spend four years with your nose buried in a book, learning theories you may never get a chance to apply 鈥 you鈥檙e going to get out there and apply them, be it through internships, group projects, leadership opportunities, competitions and more.

What Is Your Favorite Teaching Moment?

During tax season the students volunteer to prepare taxes for 福利视频 students and staff and members of the community. It is always a proud moment to see the students sharing what they have learned with others.
